Larry Michael Gay , 69 Feb 12, 1951 - Dec 7, 2020 Larry Michael Gay , 69 Feb 12, 1951 - Dec 7, 2020 Larry Michael Gay, 69, went to be with his Lord peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020. He was born February 12, 1951, the eldest son of Harold and Inez Gay of Sharpsburg, Maryland. Michael was challenged at birth, born with cerebral palsy, but didn't let any of the bad stuff get in his way. His smile was beautiful and sincere and he was always happy to see people. He had many good things to think about in his life. He was a pure and good soul, never bitter or angry or disillusioned by life. His cup was always half full, never half empty. He brought joy to everyone who knew him. He was the focus and inspiration of his younger siblings.
Michael was an avid sports fan even though he was not physically able to participate in sports. There were many rousing sports conversations with many people his entire life. People loved to talk sports with him because it was great fun. Michael was a fan of the Redskins, Orioles Wizards, Capitals and the Maryland Terps. He loved to read, retained everything he read, and was unbeatable when playing Trivial Pursuit. His wit and sense of humor was legendary. The family feels blessed to have had Michael for almost 70 years.
Michael was preceded in death by both his parents Harold and Hazel Inez Gay and his brother Troy Gay. He will be sadly missed by his sister Cathy Moroz of East Port Maine, his sister Patti Miller of Sharpsburg Maryland, his brother Billie Gay of Sharpsburg Maryland and his brother Ben Gay and wife Tami at Keedysville Maryland along with nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to the staff of Sterling Care South Mountain, especially Brenda, his favorite nursing aid. The staff became Michael's family when his family was no longer allowed to visit and we will never forget their kindness.
Rest in peace Michael. We will miss you and thank you for all the memories. A private graveside service will be held. A celebration of life will be announced in the future.
