On Monday 15 March 2021 Larry Bonnett 70, husband, father, and handyman, died peacefully in his Northfield home.
Born in St. Albans, VT on 01 January 1951, Larry was the second child and oldest son of Edward & Mary Bonnett. In 1957 Larry moved to Northfield with his family and attended local schools, graduating from PVRS in 1969. Larry served his country by joining the Marines following high school, and was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. It was upon his return stateside that he met Katalin Bakai. After a brief engagement they married on 02 September 1972 and had two children.
Larry spent the majority of his life building and fixing things, from his jobs in local paper mills to the additions made to the Northfield home. There wasn't much that he couldn't fix, either by skill or brute force. He lived his life by his senior quote, "It isn't life unless you are at ease."
Larry will be joining his wife Kathy, who passed in 2014. Sticking around to sort out his tools are his two children, Tina and her husband Scott, and Nickolas and his wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Samantha, Zachary, and Gabriel. Siblings David, Cecile, and Madalyn, and their families will also help to keep his memory alive.
Larry wasn't much for flowers so if you'd like to do something, please make a donation to the Kathy Bonnett Memorial Scholarship Fund at PVRS, 97 F. Sumner Turner Drive, Northfield, MA 01360.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Farms Cemetery. Details will be announced at a later date.
Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave. Northfield, Ma. is in charge of arrangements.
