Larry D. Babbs, 74, born December 16, 1949, in Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 9:45 PM.
Larry graduated from Brownstown High School in 1968. He was a tool maker where he worked at the plastic factory in Medora, Indiana, and retired from Valeo in 2005. He served in the Army National Guard until 1976 and was a former volunteer firefighter with the Grassy Fork Fire Department.
On June 21, 1969, Larry married Beverly J. Babbs at Tampico Christian Church. He was a quiet, kind, humble, and caring man who valued simplicity and quality in life. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing his yard, watching his favorite NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, listening to Reds baseball, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Babbs of Crothersville, Indiana; his daughter, Melissa (Eric) Buckles of Tampico, Indiana; his grandchildren, Heather (Kyle Breitenbach) Buckles and Robert (Stephanni Kleber) Buckles, both of Tampico, Indiana; and his siblings, Norman (Carol) Babbs of Seymour, Indiana, and Charlotte (Greg) White of Batesville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William and Caroline (Zaring) Babbs, and his sister-in-law, Peggy Babbs.
Funeral services will be conducted by Randy King on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville, Indiana, with a graveside service following at Russell Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday from Noon until 2:00 PM.
