Lando "Bud" Heiny Jr., age 89, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021. He was born in Mohawk, Indiana on April 1, 1932 to Lando Heiny Sr. and Mildred (Flowers) Heiny. He attended Mt. Comfort High School and served in the U.S. Navy. On January 24, 1953, he married Patricia "Pat" Bryant.
Bud worked for Commercial Motor Freight as a mechanic for many years. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local #135. He was the owner and operator of B&BH Trucking for 11 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #119 and Eden United Methodist Church. Bud loved to spend time with his family. In his free time, he enjoyed watching horse racing, IU basketball, and old westerns. He liked to play pool, go fishing, camping, and riding bikes.
He is survived by his children, Susan Ferguson, David Heiny, Terry (Vicky) Heiny, Jerry (Nancy) Heiny, Lori (David) Rohn, Brenda (Brent) Hooks, Mike (Christy) Heiny; brother, Ronnie Heiny; grandchildren, Melissa, Kami, Margo, Stephanie, Kyle, Brad, Brian, Taylor, Kelly, Zach, Michaela, Sammy and Spencer; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lando and Mildred; wife of 53 years, Pat Heiny; grandson, Nicholas Joseph Fullerton; brothers, Jim and Bill Heiny; and sisters, Mary Williams and Dorothy Herron.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
