Ms. Lana M. Schafer, 81 of Lenox, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Born in North Adams, MA on February 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian Hannaleck Schafer. Educated in the local schools, Lana was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Early in her career, Lana worked at Berkshire Life and Berkshire Mutual Insurance Companies. She then worked for Evergreen Realty in Pittsfield and Roberts and Associates in Lenox. Most recently she was employed by the Rookwood Inn before retiring in 2016.
Lana enjoyed reading, sewing, shopping, spending time with friends and enjoying all the cultural events and attractions her adopted hometown of Lenox and the Berkshires had to offer.
Lana is survived by her children, Matthew Bock (Lisa) and Philip Bock (Nadia), as well as her brothers, Edward Schafer, Jr., Richard Schafer (Dolores) and Mark Schafer, and her sisters, Linda Lamke and Dianne Schafer. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Bock, her sister Kathleen Maestri and her brother Karl Schafer. She leaves behind 5 grandchildren, her beloved friend Christine Manarchik and many dear friends at The Curtis in Lenox.

Funeral services for Ms. Lana M. Shafer will be private and at the convenience of the family.
