Lana Faye Tovrea passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, CO She was 77 years old. Richard Lealand Tovrea passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. He was 81 years old. Private graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Nucla Cemetery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Nucla, CO. Graveside services will follow at the Nucla Cemetery. Lana was born on September 10, 1943 to William James and Martha Leoma (Herford) Mitchell in Taos, New Mexico and started school there. At 5th grade her family moved to Nucla, CO where she finished her schooling at Nucla High School. Richard was born on July 28, 1939 in Nucla, CO to Lealand Carl and Lola Mae Bishop Tovrea. He graduated form Nucla High School. Dick found the love of his life in the hall way of the Nucla High School. When he first saw her, he said that he was going to marry her. On April 17, 1960 in Nucla, CO he married Lana Faye Mitchell. To this union 3 daughters were born. Dick was a manager of truck stops and gas stations. Lana was a home maker and enjoyed gardening, artistry, and crafts but most of all being a wife, mom and sister. Among Dick and Lana's survivors are their daughters; Stephanie Lynne (Dan) Guilin of Livermore, CA, Vickie Leigh (Oscar) Alvarez of Montecello, UT, and Michelle Lanae (Dominic) Mahan of Florence, MT; a sister Lela Skees of Craig, CO and Ogden, UT. They are also survived by 10 grand children and 13 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
