Lakin Coolidge "Peck" Cummings, 98, of Spencer, went to his heavenly home on June 30, 2024. He was born January 29, 1926, on Green Creek in Roane County.
He was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Cummings and Una Della Jones Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gatha Romine Cummings; son, Paul; infant daughter, Doris; brother, Gerald; sister, Elsie; infant brother, Elvin; brother-in-law, Kenna Romine; nephews, Danny Cummings and Jerry Romine; and niece, Julie Raines Bays.
Survivors include children: Alice (Frank) Tefft of Walker, WV, Joyce (Steve) Rogers of Reedy,Lois (Bobby) Dent of Spencer, Karen Botkins of Asheville, NC and daughter-in-law, Susie Cummings of Walton.
10 Grandchildren: 15 Great-grandchildren: sister, Garnet Raines of Spencer; three nephews.
Service will be at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6 at 2PM with visitation two hours prior to the service. Pastor Daniel Dent and Rev. Larry Jones will be officiating. Burial will follow at the John Summers Cemetery, Paxton Ridge Road, Walton, WV.
