Lacey was born on May 26, 1973, in Lufkin, Texas, to Larry Wayne Overstreet, Sr. and Linda Kay (Thigpen) Overstreet, and died Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at her residence.
Lacey graduated from Lufkin High School in 1992. She went back to college 20 years later with the help of a dear friend, Darlene, and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Lacey has a strong testimony of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. She had attended Brothers Keeper Church in Bald Hill.
If you were to ask Lacey today, her first job was to be Wendel's wife, followed by being Nawna. Her love for her grandchildren meets no boundaries. She treated her grown children like babies every chance she gets. They did not care much for it.
Everyone knows Lacey's first love was her family, but God gave Lacey a second love, which was for our senior community. Lacey started volunteering in 1983 at Westwood Nursing Home in the Activity Department and she never looked back. She received her CNA certificate before graduating High School. Then, she entered administration in 2006, thanks to a blessing from another dear friend, Sharon Smith. In 2015, Lacey once again with the blessing of a dear friend, Sharon Lawrence, opened All Personal Assistance. She worked day and night to build it to what it is today.
Lacey loved to throw parties. She wanted everyone to have a wonderful time. Easter was always her favorite, watching the babies hunt eggs and even hid eggs for the adult "kids". She just loved having her family around her.
She was always involved in the community. She loved being a part of Lions Club, mainly because they help blind people, and her favorite part was helping get their campers to camp.
She is survived by her husband, Wendel Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Misty Phillips; daughter and partner, BreAnna Phillips and Cody Courtney; grandchildren, Rozalin, Tyler, and Rowan; mother, Linda Kay Overstreet; sister and brother-in-law, Laurie and Todd Picha; brother and sister-in-law, Larry Wayne Jr. "Wayne" and Allure Overstreet; brother, Keith Burnett; mother-in-law, Joyce Phillips; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and Aaron Eastman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry W. Overstreet, Sr.; sister, Lesley Overstreet; father-in-law, John Phillips; and many others.
Pallbearers will be Keith Burnett, Travis Marshall, Danny Redd, Jacob Carter, nj, and Lee Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Trent Troutman, Tammy Lockington, Jennifer Hoagland, Kayla Guiterrez, and James and Tina Patterson.
Lacey asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Texas Lions Camp, 4100 San Antonio Hwy, Kerrville, TX 78028 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
