Kysa Ann Meek, age 70 of Richmond, passed away March 27, 2025 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of Larry Meek for 47 wonderful years. Devoted mother to Casey (Jason) Ahmer and Ashley (Dean) Alejandro. Cherished grandmother Allie Ahmer and James Alejandro. Dear sister to Kevin Best. Preceded in death by parents Derell, Sherry, and Kevin Best.
Kysa worked for The VA Hospital in Cheyenne WY for many years before moving to IL with her family. She was a Clinical Research Manager for Abbott Laboratories / AbbVie for 29 years studying various drugs including those for cancer. Her love for quilting was not just a hobby but a means of spreading joy, as she donated countless handmade quilts to those in need and to Home of the Sparrow. For 30 years she was a member of Country Quilters of McHenry quilters guild and participated in quilt shows. She was a devout parishioner of First United Methodist Church in McHenry where she attended many Sunday services, bibles studies and ministry groups. Kysa was a wonderful baker and was known for the many treats she shared.
A memorial service will be held 2:30pm at First United Methodist Church, on April 13, 2025. Zoom link for services can be found on the Church's website.
