Kyong Soon (Park) Liliedahl, 81, a resident of Derry for the last fifty-four years, died peacefully on July 16, 2021, at home, following a long illness.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, daughter of the late Hyun Duk Park and Ae Sook (Lee) Park. She emigrated to the United States in 1967 and became a naturalized American citizen in Hawaii before moving to the mainland of the United States and settling in Derry.
Mrs. Liliedahl was employed at Microwave Research Associates and later for Digital Equipment Corp. as a quality control inspector for fifteen years before her retirement.
Family was the main focus of her life and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed hosting many of the family holidays, celebrations and events at her home. The eldest of seven children, Mrs. Liliedahl was instrumental in helping five of her siblings relocate to this country, get established and eventually become U.S. citizens. She was an accomplished artist in oils, and Chinese brush stroke, which is a form of Chinese calligraphy. She also enjoyed flower gardening and learned to play and master the kayagum and crafted many quilts and quality needlepoint heirlooms. She valued the close group of friends that she cultivated and enjoyed spending time with over the years up until the time of her death.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Clifton B. Liliedahl, two sons and daughters-in-law; J. David and Michelle Liliedahl of Manchester, NH, and B. Daniel and Claire Liliedahl of Groton, MA, a daughter, Denise L. Corriveau of Manchester, two brothers; Choon Keun Park of Derry and Bong Keun Park of Plaistow, four sisters; Ok Ja Lee of Haverhill, MA, Bong Ye Evans of Salem, NH, Bong Soon Park of Seoul, SK, and Kyong Ae Peters of Kingston, NH and their spouses as well as seven grandchildren; Morgan, Nicholas, Jake, Jessica, Matthew, Cam and Colton; two great-grandchildren, Liliana and Aidyn, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral service will take place at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home and followed by burial in Atkinson Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations in her name be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
