Kurt David Lovold, age 58 of Buffalo, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of September 15, 2022, at home with his wife and family.
Kurt was born in Fort Bragg, NC on October 28, 1963 the son of Dr. Dean Lovold and Joanne (Hagen) Lovold.
Kurt and his family grew up in Willmar on Long Lake and he enjoyed playing the trumpet, the piano, boating, swimming, water skiing, playing tennis and working on cars. His memories were made alongside cousins, siblings, parents and friends.
Kurt attended grade school and high school in Willmar, MN. He then attended St. Cloud State, Ridgewater Community College, and Hutchinson Technical College. His schooling began with his passions of auto body, and restored his first car a Studebaker. His favorite memory of this car by his sister Janel, was getting to drive the car once, but to also ride along with Kurt through town. Kurt knew just what windows of local businesses to drive by to get the best reflection of his car, from all angles. His current project has been restoring a 1929 Ford Model A with his father-in-law Shaddie.
Later he studied non-destructive testing, which took him around the country and into California working for GE, and eventually back to Minnesota. He worked as a Quality Inspector, and IT Specialist for Kurt Manufacturing, overnights in inventory/allocation for Walmart, and most recently as a driver for Nordstrom Metal, in Rockford.
Kurt continued to grow his family when he married Amy (Holman) on October 23, 1999. Together with their children Zach (35) Lauren (22) and twins Ella and Oliver (18) created a foundation on which to build family memories and a legacy of pure goodness, unconditional love, friendship, and parenthood.
Together they enjoyed concerts, collecting vinyl records, movie nights, swimming, boating, skiing, tubing, camping, family trips including favorites of his, a trip to Washington with Zach, and South Dakota with Amy, Lauren, Ella and Oliver.
Kurt was a stay-at-home dad for years, and was truly the best friend to his wife, and 4 children. He was impactful to everyone he met, and was instantly your friend.
Kurt is survived by his wife Amy (nee' Holman) of Buffalo, MN; son Zach (Breiha) of Buffalo, MN; daughter Lauren of Annandale, MN; twins Ella and Oliver of Buffalo, MN; mother, Joanne Lovold of Willmar, MN; brother Craig (Linda) of Spicer, MN; sister Janel (Brent) Schuenke of Willmar, MN; nieces and nephews Austin, Sydney, Reese, Rachael, and Ilexa, cousins and friends.
