Kurt Joseph Landsberg, 48, of Murrysville, passed away on the evening of Monday, July 4, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous 15 month-long battle with brain cancer. Kurt Joe was born July 6, 1973, in Pittsburgh, to Kurt William Landsberg and Rita Curtin Landsberg. He graduated from Franklin Regional High School and then earned his degree from the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown. He worked as a high school English teacher for Highlands High School his entire career. He was also a soccer coach for Highlands Girls Varsity Soccer team and later for Franklin Regional Girls Varsity Soccer team, coached multiple club leagues and his sons' soccer teams, while also playing on teams himself his entire adult life. Kurt enjoyed vacationing and spending time with his boys, everything soccer and hanging with his friends. He also enjoyed gaming with his brother Mike, sending jokes, enjoying a good drink and playing poker. Kurt was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents and all of his aunts and uncles. Kurt is survived by his beloved sons, Keegan (14) and Ryder (12); his brother, Mike (Jenn); his parents, Rita and Kurt, and stepmother, Anita; stepsister, Aly; his niece, Julianne; and his cousins, Eddie, Raquel, Steve (Julie) and Cathy. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at HART FUNERAL HOME in Murrysville, at which time a private memorial service will be held with his immediate family giving his eulogy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to Mike Landsberg to add to the trust fund for his boys' future care and schooling.
