Kristen L. Sagar passed away May 6, 2022, in Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. surrounded by her loving family. She was 40 years old.
Kristen was born on January 14, 1982, in Tulsa, Ok. At the age of 1 her family moved to Anchorage, AK., when she was 8 her family moved to Tacoma, WA. and at the age 9 she moved to and settled in Galena, MD. Kristen graduated from Kent County High School in 2000. She worked for People's Bank of Kent County, Pasta Plus, Paul's Shoe Store, Bonnie Plant Farms and other odds and end jobs through the years. Later in life, Kristen had spent time living in Chestertown, Rock Hall, Tolchester, Church Hill, Middletown, DE., Grove, OK. and Rehoboth Beach, DE. but always considered Galena her home. She was an Associate Member of the Galena Volunteer Fire Company.
Kristen had a heart of gold, a contagious smile, and loved joking around. She enjoyed spending time with her son, family, friends and listening to all kinds of music from Bob Marley to Biggie Smalls. She also enjoyed cooking and cleaning. Her favorite past time was eating Maryland seafood and correcting people's grammar on Facebook.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Elizabeth (Liz) and Preston Turner and her pet dog Baggins.
Kristen is survived by her son, Mason J. Lively, of Middletown, DE., her parents, Christopher A., and Robin E. Powell, of Milford, DE., formerly of Galena, MD., and Thomas E. Sagar of Grove, OK., her brothers, Alex K. Sagar (Jen) of Dover, DE., Dylan R. Powell (Megan) of Sudlersville, MD. and Raleigh Sagar of Grove, OK., her niece Riley Lawson, nephew Clay Sagar and niece Phoebe Powell, Grandparents, S. Richard (Dick) and Joyce S. Powell of Galena, MD. and several aunts, uncles and cousins around Maryland and Oklahoma.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held June 11, 2022, at the Galena Volunteer Fire Company.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Galena Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., P.O. Box 189, Galena, MD. 21635.
