August 19, 1964 - February 2, 2021
Kris Ellen Petrelles, age 56 peacefully died in the arms of her husband and three daughters Kelsi, Ellie and Mallory, as well as her extended family Tahnee, David, Elijah, Natalie and Mollie on February 2, 2021 in her home in Fairplay, Maryland after a courageous battle with cancer. Kris was born August 19, 1964 in Charlotte, Michigan where she graduated in 1982 from Charlotte High School before moving to Maryland. She was preceded in death by both parents Richard and Ellen Sobleskey. She is survived by 6 brothers and sisters: Carolyn (Rick) Barrera,
Rick (Carrie) Sobleskey, Marcia (Tim) Ralya, Laurie (Paul) Davis, Allen (Brenda) Sobleskey, Kevin (Cheryl) Sobleskey and proceeded in death by Brother Paul (Louanne) Sobleskey. All of Michigan.
Kris previously worked for United Parcel Service of Hagerstown and served as a Nanny. Kris had recently retired after a successful career as a Licensed Child Care Provider of Washington County. Kris was happily married for 28 1/2 years to Matthew Petrelles, who was her life partner for nearly 33 years. Kris is survived by her husband and 3 beautiful girls Kelsi Rae, Ellen Julia and Mallory Grace and her fur babies Rocky, Sparky and Tiger.
Besides spending time with her family, she lovingly was a servant of God at the Hagerstown Bible Church, Hagerstown, MD. She participated faithfully in the Nursery, Wednesday Awana Group, Vacation Bible School and every year she was dedicated to Operation Shoe Box for the less fortunate and giving her time all through the holidays.
Kris had a passion for visiting Cocoa Beach, FL, exercising, and loved music by Keith Urban and her favorite Christian music group was "For King and Country". Kris had a bright, energetic, inquisitive personality. She expressed such great love and compassion for her husband, girls, family, and friends and always put others before herself. Anyone that crossed her path was truly blessed. During her employment, she touched the lives of everyone with the utmost love, tenderheartedness, generosity, and compassion. As we will all miss her, her loving soul will live in us forever.
