CARBONDALE - Koreen Annette Rose, 62, of Carbondale, Kansas departed this life on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Koreen was born August 2, 1958 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Joe A. Rose Sr. and Leila Lue (Amstutz) Rose. She graduated in 1976 from Maumee High School in Maumee, Ohio.
Koreen was employed for over thirty years at the VA Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.
Koreen enjoyed watching tennis, gardening, and taking care of her lawn. Koreen and Melissa's weekly shopping trips to Topeka were always fun and will be dearly missed. She took much joy in listening to classic rock music and specifically her favorite band, "Kansas". Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren where she enjoyed spoiling them, attending their school activities, and watching them show their 4-H animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Rose; and a sister, Glorie Jean Rose.
Koreen is survived by Paul L. Lester of the home; daughter, Melissa Rose Sand (Jacob) of Overbrook, Kansas; two brothers, Joe Rose Jr. (Debbie) of Overbrook, Kansas and Howard Rose of Jasper, Arkansas; three grandchildren, John, Jerry "JP", and Joseph; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Memorial services will be 11 A.M., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon, Kansas. The family will receive friends 5-7:00 P.M., Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. A private family inurnment at Valley Brook Cemetery will take place at a later date.
