Ms. Kimberly Ann (Parrott) Kropinski passed away unexpectedly during open heart surgery late Monday evening on September 13, 2021. Born in Pittsfield, MA on March 22, 1960, the daughter of the late Raymond and Joan DiAngelis Parrott, she graduated from Berkshire Community College with an associate's degree in selective studies, focusing on psychology and sociology and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School, class of '78.
Kimberly's passion in life was always caring for and helping those who needed it most. If there
was ever a friend in need, Kim would be there with her full sweet spirit, opening her heart in just the way they needed. She began each day with her faith, opening her Bible over a cup of coffee and seeking out the word in a way that would define her day and lift her up throughout her entire life. She occasionally worked as a certified registered nurse, but spent most of her days helping her family, often by her mother's side whether at the costume shop Parrott-Phernalia or at the family-run deli, a staple of the community, A-Mart. It was her open heart, her quiet, peaceful demeanor that allowed anyone to easily and quickly become her new best friend. To know Kim was to be her friend, but to be in her close circle of loved ones, was to be loved with a fullness rarely felt in life.
As a young girl, Kimberly loved ballet and was an avid reader and skier. Intelligent and inquisitive she always kept up with the latest current and world events. Her style and flare in life was unmatched, often envied, and rightly so because she always made sure she looked stunning. In life she volunteered at food pantries and did outreach for the homeless whether through a church community or just from her own desires. She was a peaceful woman, who enjoyed nature, listening to the birds, the daily comings and goings of those around her and always kept a cat by her side. Her only son, Joel was her greatest gift and light in her life.
She will be loved...always, as a mother, a sister, a niece, a cousin, and a friend.
Kimberly leaves behind countless loved ones and is survived by her son, Joel Kropinski, as well as her brother Raymond Parrot, Jr. and wife Jennifer Parrott. She is the sister of the late Tina Marie Parrott and her youngest brother, the late Marc David Parrott. She leaves behind Steve Kropinski, the father of her only child as well as her companion for the last fifteen years of her life, William Wertelet.
