Kevin Roe, 60, passed away on March 18, 2021 from complications of an unexpected heart attack and stroke. Kevin was born in Robert Lee, Texas on February 19, 1961 to Billy Wayne and Dolores Roe. Kevin met the love of his life, Tammy, while attending classes at Angelo State University. They exchanged vows on June 25, 1983, and had three beautiful children, Shelby, Lindsey, and Chase. Kevin and Tammy built a home in Robert Lee, where they raised their children, and then moved to Nemo, Texas in 2010.
Kevin worked in the oil and gas industry for 37 years and developed lifelong friendships. He was a mentor both in industry and in life. He prioritized family over work, found joy in life, and kept it as simple as possible. He made an impact on many people, and his community, while being an advocate for students by serving on the school board of Robert Lee ISD. He was often referred to as the "coolest dad" by every kid which made it easy for him to become the greatest Popi to his grandchildren, Addison (9), Brooklyn (4), and Bryant (1). Kevin kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. He was the life of the party, a friend to all, one of a kind, and still doing backflips off the back of boats at the age of 56.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Tammy; children Shelby (Addison), Lindsey (Allen), and Chase (Reno); grandchildren Addison, Brooklyn, and Bryant; and parents Billy Wayne and Dolores. He was preceded in death by grandparents Bill and Inez Roe, and Buster and Helen Jones.
Funeral Services will be held at Robert Lee Methodist Church on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 2:00 pm, followed by a celebration of his life. Please dress casually at KROE's request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/ Robert Lee.
