Kerry M. Gasper, 61, attorney, died May 25, 2021.
Kerry was born on February 12, 1960, in Wichita KS. He graduated from Wichita West High School in 1978. Kerry earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Kansas State University in 1982 where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He graduated with honors from Washburn University School of Law, where he served on the Board of Editors for the Washburn Law Journal. Kerry was admitted to the Kansas bar in 1985. He was also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of Kansas and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit. Kerry practiced law in Topeka since 1985, spending time working for the Kansas School Board Association for several years before venturing out to establish his own practice. Most recently, Kerry was passionate about helping his clients improve their financial situations, focusing his practice on Bankruptcy Law since 2010. He enjoyed traveling, history, the outdoors, and spending time with his family, and was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be most remembered by friends and family for his friendly and compassionate spirit. Anyone who knew Kerry will tell you he was incredibly kind and loving.
Survivors: sons, Garrett M. Gasper (Heather) of Overland Park, Logan J. Gasper (Bridget) of Shawnee; brothers, Steven B. Gasper and John K. Gasper, both of Wichita; grandchildren, Keegan and Natalie Gasper. In addition to family, Kerry leaves behind numerous friends and acquaintances who all have their own personal story of his kindness.
Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 3rd, with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m., both at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4th at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th St, Topeka KS 66604. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be a memorial service in Wichita at a later date.
