Kent Thomas Bailey age 86, resident of Meadowlakes, Texas, passed peacefully at Gateway Gardens Assisted Living with his wife Fergie by his side on July 6, 2022. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
Kent was born on 8/30/35 in Glendale, California to Edgar and Emma (Fromel) Bailey and grew up in Big Bear, California. He had a love of animals, birds, music, language and the great outdoors. He served 3 years in the US Army and in the US Forest Service in California and the Pacific Northwest. He met his first wife Linda Anne Bailey in Spokane, Washington.
After graduating from the University of Idaho, Kent moved to Texas with Linda and his 3 daughters, Kathy Hill, Karen Gelmis and Kristy Nichols. They settled in Houston, where he worked as a licensed professional engineer in the oil and gas industry. He retired to Marble Falls, Texas in 2006. His wife Linda Anne Bailey passed away 12/19/14.
He met his current wife Ruthann "Fergie" Ferguson in 2015 through mutual friends at church. They dated for about 6 years and were married on 3/19/21. They resided in Meadowlakes until a recent move to assisted living.
Kent. Is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Linda, his brother Don Bailey and his sister Maxine Bailey.
He is survived by his second wife Fergie, stepdaughter, Kathy (Steve) Wright, their children Lucas, Jordan, Kameron and Taylor and stepson Paul Hill, 3 daughters and sons in-law Mike Hill, Gregg Gelmis and Zach Nichols, grandchildren Patrick and Ian Hill, Jenny and Rachel Gelmis and nephew Richard Bailey.
A mass will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11 am at St. John's Catholic Church, 105 Ranch Rd 1431, Marble Falls, TX 78654. Father Pedro will be officiating.
Fergie would like to extend her deepest gratitude to all the staff at Gateway Gardens, those from Visiting Angels and Home Instead and Texas Home Health Hospice for their attentiveness and loving care.
