Former Air Force Airman, Kennith C. Blevins, passed away October 7, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he took his final breath.
Kennith was born in Crandull, Tennessee in 1936 to Dennis O. Blevins and Ethel McNeil. He was one of eleven children. A graduate of the Class of 1954 from Johnson County High School in Mountain City, Tennessee, Kennith was an all-around athlete known as "the worm." He was awarded the achievement as a high school All-American in football. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force base in Texas. While there, he met the love of his life, Lorette Pelletier. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal during his tenure in the Air Force. Upon leaving the Air Force, he started his 38-year career in the packaging industry, working for Nashua Corporation followed by Loveshaw Corporation, where he was selected as Salesman of the Year numerous times. He was known by friends and neighbors for his random acts of kindness and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Kennith is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Lorette. He is survived by three daughters: Kim Carter of Ranger, GA; Terry (Steve) Edwards of Jackson, GA; Conna (David) Smith of McDonough, GA. He is also survived by three siblings: Ned Blevins, Leon Blevins, and Forrest Blevins of Shady Valley, TN; grandchildren: Amanda (Nathan) Young of Hoschton, GA; Lorette and KC Edwards of Jackson, GA; Eli and Logan Smith of McDonough, GA; great-grandchildren: Tucker and Molly Young of Hoschton, GA; several nieces and nephews.
The life of Kennith Blevins will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13 with visitation at 10:00am followed by a private family graveside service officiated by Nathan Young at 11:00am. Services will be held at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel, Stockbridge, GA.
The family of Kennith extends their sincere gratitude to Benton Village of Stockbridge for the compassionate care and love that was shown to Kennith on a daily basis. The kindness displayed to him will forever be remembered and appreciated.
