Kenneth Severin Norberg, age 82, of Smithville, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his home. He was born in Isanti Co., MN, on April 5, 1940 to the late Andrew Severin Norberg & Anna Oman Norberg. Mr. Norberg retired after 20 years serving in the US Military as a Master Sargent, after his military career he worked at the MARINE CORE LOGISTICS base in the Electronics division. He was a member of Americus First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the church choir. He was a member of the Americus American Legion, he loved to read, cut a lot of grass, he liked to tinker with electronics, he loved working in construction and repairing old lawn mowers.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 6,2023 at First Baptist Church at 10:00 AM with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Keith Parks and Rev. Rusty Mauldin officiating.
Graveside will be held at 4:00 PM at Leila Methodist Church 3128 Ellenton Omega, Rd. Omega GA
Survivors include his wife of 62 years Sarah Higgs Norberg of Leesburg; his daughters Rene (Todd) Norberg Chesnut of Fayetteville, GA Michelle (Bobby) Norberg Bailey of Tallahassee, FL; his grandchildren Nicole O'Neal, Kandy Faulkner, Libby Chesnut, and Andrew Youngman; six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Severin Norberg & Anna Oman Norberg, and his son Jon Norberg.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Music Ministry of First Baptist Church of Americus, 221 South Lee Street, Americus, GA 31709.
