Kenneth P. Moran, 86, of Portsmouth, NH passed away on August 18, 2022 at Portsmouth Hospital.
He was born on December 11, 1935 in Presque Isle, ME to John P. Moran, Sr. and Lucille Michaud Moran, the seventh of ten children.
He graduated from Presque Isle High School and earned a BS in Education from University of Maine, Presque Isle (formerly Aroostook State Teachers College) and an MS in Education from University of Maine, Gorham.
He proudly served in the US Army at Fort Knox and Fort Sam Houston during the Korean Conflict.
Ken was an elementary teacher at Fonda-Fultonville Central School in Fonda, NY for 30 years, and was known as a playful jokester quick to share a story from growing up on the farm in Presque Isle and was always willing to go above and beyond to help his students succeed. He was also employed by Brown's Transportation as a school bus driver for many years.
Ken enjoyed coaching and cheering at his children and grandchildren's sporting events, tending to his vegetable garden, foraging for fiddleheads, fishing, playing golf with friends, travelling to Europe, California and Florida after retirement, raising a pint, and was a devoted Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots fan.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille, his sisters Ruby Irish, Maxine, Patricia Robinson, and daughter-in-law Rachael Twigg.
He is survived by wife Andrea, his children Katherine, Patrick (Linnea), Timothy (Jessica), Maureen Nelsen (Thomas), and Christopher; grandchildren Mitchell, Emma, Chloe, Maura, Maggie, Finneas, Samson, Scottie, Clancy Kenneth, and Grandpaw to Harper.
He is also survived by siblings Joan Coppolo, John Jr., George, Carol Ross, Marilyn Morimoto, Dianne Lanham and Uncle Kenny to many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the staff at The Inn at Edgewood in Portsmouth who lovingly cared for Dad for the last year.

A time of visitation followed by a memorial service will be held at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St, Portsmouth from 3-5pm on Wednesday, August 24.
