Kenneth Leroy Larson, age 73 of Mountlake Terrace, passed away peacefully on October 5 after a 9-month battle with brain cancer. Ken was born on March 10, 1948, in Bremerton, Washington, to Florence and Cyrus Larson.
Kenundefineds childhood roots were in Bremerton, attending Marion Avenue Grade School, Coontz Junior High, and West Bremerton High School before attending Mountlake Terrace High School. He was proud to have served honorably in the United States Marines, spending a year in Vietnam. After his discharge, Ken spent his entire 41-year working career with Puget Sound Energy. He would often brag to his friends how, as a service technician, he had occasion to visit the homes of many local sports luminaries. Ken always spoke fondly of the numerous friends he made at PSE. Ever since his youth, Ken was an enthusiastic and accomplished golfer. After his retirement in 2015, he eagerly anticipated his annual pilgrimages to the Alta Lake Golf Course with a group of his many friends. Ken also studied the saxophone and made it a point to support his friends who were performing musicians. His musician friends will always leave an empty chair for him.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother Gary, and his niece Marci Kettrick James (Michael) of Chelan, Washington. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Kettrick Farmer (Rusty), Wenatchee; Michael James (husband of Marci); nephew Mitchell Kettrick (Carla) of El Cajon, California and great nephews, Tyler (Annie) James; Bryan James; Kyle James (Haley); great nieces Carmen, Danielle and Francesca Kettrick.
Kenundefineds life was too short, and he will be missed. Memorial service is scheduled for 2pm, October 23rd at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Avenue, Everett, WA
