Kenneth Callis Lanoue, age 82, died on December 13, 2021. Ken was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on October 11, 1939.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Gladieux Lanoue, his daughter Caitlin Lanoue Cunningham and her husband John, and grandchildren, August and Hank; his brother Donald Lanoue, of Wallingford, Connecticut; his brother-in-law William Gladieux (Cindy), of Rossford, Ohio; sister-in-law, Alice Stephens (Rob), of Albuquerque, New Mexico; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The son of Normand and Alvena, who were both deaf, Ken and his younger brother Don grew up with an understanding that obstacles could be overcome with hard work. Ken, with a built-in responsibility to help his parents communicate, learned to read at an early age, reading the comics in his local newspaper. The love for reading stayed with Ken throughout his life. If he had a minute to relax, he picked up a book and read.
While age caught up to him over the last few years of his life and limited his movement, Ken was still able to travel to see family on several recent occasions, including a trip back to Connecticut and a recent trip to Cincinnati to spend several weeks with Caitlin, John and the boys. Ken will be missed by many.
If you would like to remember Ken through a donation, please send monetary donations to the Patricia Gladieux Scholarship Fund. Rossford High School, 701 Superior St. Rossford, OH 43460.
