Kenneth Rogers Johnston, 88, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 in a local healthcare facility. He retired from the US Postal Service after 20 years of service and was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Shuler Johnston; parents, M.L. Johnston, Sr. and Nellie Mae Collins Johnston; children, Stephen Johnston, Debbie Bunch and Kenneth Wendell Johnston; brothers, James Johnston and M. L. Johnston, Jr., sister, Gwyneth "Pete" Haney; and granddaughter, Adrienne Johnston.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Johnston Bennett and husband, Keith of Birmingham, Alabama; five grandchildren, Mandy Bunch Leslie and husband, Brandon of Cleveland, Matthew Johnston and wife, Jessie of California, Blair Bennett of Hoover AL, James Bennett and wife, Whitney of Moulton, AL and Laura Bennett Braddock and husband, Skyler of Hoover, AL; seven great grandchildren; sister, Lossalie "Pud" Phipps and husband, Bobby of Cartersville, GA; several nieces and nephews; and special family members, Teresa and Willard Moses and Wilma and Don Mull.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Moore officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, TN with full military honors.
His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
