Ken was raised in North Dakota before moving to the Kirkland area. Ken worked for the King County water district before serving in the military where he was stationed in Fort Huachuca, AZ. Returning from the service Ken went back to work for King County water district where he became the Super Intendent of the water district, retiring in 1992. While he was working in Juanita water district he volunteered for the fire department, the chief at that time was Robert Gollofon who brought him home where he first laid eyes on his future wife Jeannie. They soon married and had 3 children that they raised in Kirkland just blocks from in-laws and other family. During their married life of almost 60 years, together they joined motorcycle clubs, van clubs, horse clubs, enjoyed hydro plane races, sprint car racing, hunted and camped with his brothers, and traveled many miles by land. They moved to Monroe in 1987 and took on cattle, and horses. Loving the farm life they sold and moved to Goldendale WA, where they took up raising sheep and other livestock that found its way to their 20 acres.
In 2010 due to health concerns, they again relocated back to Monroe where life slowed down and family became again the focus for Ken. He was able to be close to his kids, and grandkids and attend all practices, games, family dinners and hold his own celebrations.
Ken (Cowboy Kenny) was the best father, friend, husband, grandfather. He never met a stranger, he loved to call just to see what you were doing and let you know what plans he had for the day (and invite you for dinner too). He helped so many friends and family over the years with farming, building, installing, fixing, and relocating. He was the example of how to be a stand-up man, father, and grandfather to those who knew him and even more to those of us close to him.
He will be missed, loved forever and his memory will be kept alive by stories and his joy for life and others.
A celebration of life is planned for August 19th, 2022 @ 3pm - 7pm.
