Kenneth David Banks, 75, of Flower Mound, TX, died at his home on November 6, 2021. Ken was born in New Boston, TX. He was a graduate of New Boston High School Class of 1964 and a graduate of Texas A&M, formerly East Texas State University, Commerce, TX. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Banks of Flower Mound, TX, son Joshua Banks, son and daughter-in-law Sean and Laura Banks and grandchildren Madison and Carter Banks, brother Otto Banks, Jr, sisters Carolyn Banks and Barbara Kyles. He is preceded in death by his parents Otto and Margaret Hope Banks, sister Deborah Banks, and daughter Heather Banks-Brennan. Ken lived a life full of love and adventure. He loved the outdoors, especially sailing on his sail boat, Chevel du Mer, with Suzanne or windsurfing on the lake with her, near their home. Ken loved music and was an avid guitar player and taught both of his sons to play quite well. There is no doubt he was a 'free spirit' and always had a way of looking at things 'outside the box'. Never a fan of the 9 to 5 job market, he focused on more exciting and unconventional ways to earn a living. He spent many years traveling to different countries in South America, and had some incredible adventures living by the ocean, exploring the Amazon jungles with oil and gas and precious mineral mining companies, as well as ocean-sailing voyaging. When Ken was given six months to live he said "They don't know how long I have!" and he continued on for seven more years; he fought hard for the past few years. Ken was led to be restored and redeemed through our savior, Jesus Christ. His faith grew immeasurably stronger and he began witnessing to others by sharing scripture through daily devotionals with his family. The graveside funeral will be held on November 15, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson Station Cemetery, 1129 Mayfield Road, Arlington, TX.
