Kenna Joy Willa Kramer passed away while in her Mother's arms sitting in her favorite outdoor spot on November 2, 2022, after battling acute myeloid leukemia since December 2021. Born in Harlingen, TX on November 4, 2018, to Shannon Fulcher and Andrew Tarver, Kenna Joy was adopted by Edward William Kramer II and Keva Leigh Kramer (Leifeste) on November 9, 2018. She was known to her family and friends as a tenacious, passionate, and loving little girl. Her favorite activities were playing soccer, going on outdoor adventures, roller skating, and creative pursuits all with her best friends (her siblings and the McBrine family).
Kenna Joy's life was just getting started. She passed away 2 days before her 4th birthday. When Kenna Joy was 15 months old she was diagnosed with a stage 4 germ cell tumor. She did everything that was asked of her, and her community, family, and friends prayed relentlessly for her full and complete healing. By God's abundant grace tumor was removed and she went into full remission. Kenna Joy and her family spent the next 18 months living life to the fullest. Her hair grew back beautifully and her family and friends relished Kenna Joy's growth. Then, the unthinkable occurred. Kenna Joy was diagnosed with an aggressive and rare form of leukemia onset by her chemotherapy treatment for the germ cell tumor.
She did everything that was asked of her, and her community, family, and friends prayed relentlessly for her full and complete healing. Kenna Joy went through 3 months of chemotherapy at Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, TX. She went into full molecular remission and went off to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX for a bone marrow transplant. The medical staff at these hospitals gave excellent care all while pursuing friendship and play with Kenna Joy. Again, she did everything that was asked of her, and her community, family, and friends prayed relentlessly for her full and complete healing. Kenna Joy's dream was to play on a soccer team and go to "The Avenue" so Ms. Rebekah could be her teacher.
Kenna Joy learned in early September that her bone marrow transplant did not work, and her leukemia relapsed. Again, she did everything that was asked of her while she enjoyed living with her family in Fredericksburg. Kenna Joy was told that her leukemia could not be stopped. Kenna Joy was a fighter who wanted to live, laugh, and play. To her last breath, she fought for life and chose joy.
Kenna Joy is survived by her loving parents, Eddie and Keva Kramer, her brother, Ellory, her sisters, Audyn and Marleigh, her grandparents, Ed and Judy Kramer and Randy and Phyllis Leifeste, and Audra and Brian Vasek of Austin, Colton, Connor, Alan and Carmen Kramer of Dallas, Parker, Zachary, Lexi. and her loving Church family.
