Wadsworth -- Kelsie Bernard Singleton, 96, passed away on April 11, 2021. Kelsie was born on November 8, 1924 in Canton, Ohio to Kelsie D. and Lillian Singleton.
He was a graduate of McKinley High School and Mount Union College. During World War II he served for four years in the United States Navy as a medical corpsman and was a medic in the battle of Tarawa. He achieved a class 4 license in both Water and Waste Management and was Superintendent of the Water and Waste Water plants in Middletown, Ohio where he lived for over 40 years. He and his wife of 68 years, Adaline, traveled throughout the world. For twelve years they made their home in Sarasota, Florida before moving to Wadsworth, Ohio. Kelsie enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, golf, fishing and computer aviation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adaline and his son, Tim. Kelsie is survived by son, Rev. James Singleton (Janet); grandchildren, Nathan (Jeana) Singleton, Ryan (Felipa) Singleton, Aaron (Meghan) Singleton, Dr. Katherine Brownfield (Ryan) and Michael (Jess) Singleton; and great grandchildren, Adelaide, Lilly, Lincoln, Ellie Jane, Leo and Oliver.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Liberty Residence II for not only giving him top quality care but for also giving him friendship. And thank you to the staff of Crossroads Hospice for making his transition comfortable and peaceful.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service for family only will take place at a later date.
