Kelly Diane Davis, age 61, passed away tragically on March 30, 2023 in Ben Lomond, California. She was born in Brunswick, Georgia, on December 10, 1961, to Robert and Diane Davis. As a part of a military family, she experienced many new cultures and friends, having lived in California, Okinawa, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Virginia, Maine, Minnesota, and Guam. Kelly connected to these new communities through music, specifically with her mastery of the oboe. She played in the Guam Symphony, Cabrillo College Orchestra, Twin Lakes Orchestra, and the Watsonville Band. Additionally, she was hired as a musician for special events, and taught private music lessons. She was also adept at teaching herself other instruments, such as flute and clarinet. Music was a part of her soul.After graduating from Harbor High School, Kelly served in the U.S. Navy as an Aerographer's Mate. She left the military, attended Cabrillo College and San Jose State University, where she earned a B.S in Environmental Science. Indeed someone who loved to research and learn new things, Kelly shared her passion as a math and reading tutor. As one who found solace in nature, she would spend many hours hiking and biking through the forests of Henry Cowell, and near the San Lorenzo River. Her kitties, Mithea and Joey brought much joy to her life.Kelly also cared about the people in her community. As a member of St. Lawrence Orthodox Christian Church in Felton, she spent extended time helping clean up and fix things around the church. She took time to check in with church members, give them a hug, play with their children, and share her joy and laughter. Kelly will be dearly missed by her family, especially her humor and the sounds of her laughter.She is survived by her father, Robert Bruce Davis; mother, Mary Diane Davis; sisters Catherine L. Davis, Robin F. Davis; brothers, David B. Davis, Robert B. Davis Jr.; 6 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 aunts, and 1 uncle. Funeral services were held for Kelly at St. Lawrence Orthodox Christian Church on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was laid to rest at the Felton Cemetery.
