Keith David Bastian, 77, of Park Rapids, MN passed away at home on Monday, May 30, 2022.
Keith was born March 19, 1945 to Owen and Cordella (Ludtke) Bastian in Wadena, MN. He graduated from Bertha High School in 1963. On August 26, 1965 he married Janice Greenwaldt in Sisseton, SD. Keith spent many years doing carpentry with his dad. He retired in 2005 after working 25 years as a cus thierr todian for the Bertha-Hewitt school.
Keith was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. He enjoyed collecting rocks, metal detecting, traveling, hunting and fishing. He liked to play cards, dominos, and enjoyed gardening and planting trees. He liked to watch the deer, have boat rides on the lake, and loved to share his quest for Bigfoot with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved all the precious time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice Bastian of Park Rapids; children, Wade (Sue) Bastian of Foley, MN, Brett (Barb) Bastian of Princeton, MN, Johanna (Scott) Gilbertson of Park Rapids; 7 grandchildren, Joe Bastian, Nicole Bastian, Kendra (Jacob) Barber, Kassie Bastian, Jasmine (Josh) Kruchowski, Jessica (Jamie) Kruchowski, Janesa Weiss; step-grandsons, Alex Gilbertson, Andrew Gilbertson; 7 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; sister, Char Lage; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Cordella Bastian; and brother, Ron Bastian.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
Arrangements are being handled by the Cease Funeral Home of Park Rapids, MN.
