Kay Rusher Hall, 88, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the James A. McAlister Chapel, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Kay was born March 9, 1936, in Wilmington, NC. She was the daughter of John and Luna Rusher. She graduated from East Carolina College with a degree in primary education. Kay taught in private/public schools in both North and South Carolina. She assisted her husband, Reece, at his business Sloan, Montgomery, Gregory and Hall until her retirement. Kay was a member of many organizations and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. She was the recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award. Kay was an active member of Kathwood Baptist Church in Columbia, SC since 1967.
Kay is survived by her two children, Tom Hall (Mary) and Alison Hall Johnson (Brian). She also leaves behind her four grandchildren, Casey Johnson (Caroline), Taylor Johnson, Katie Bridges (Wesley) and Miranda Washburn (Zack), as well as her brother, John Rusher (Linda) and several nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Reece Hall and her twin sister, Ann Rogers.
