Katherine Annette Yarborough "Kay" Goff, age 76, passed away January 8, 2021 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was born November 16, 1944 in Timmonsville, SC to the late Mendel H. Yarborough and Jessie Mae Evans Yarborough.
Kay grew up in the Sardis Community where she was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She graduated from Timmonsville High School in 1962 and attended the University of South Carolina where she majored in Journalism. Kay received her B.A. degree at Goddard College in 1979 and went on to work as a counselor at the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission. Kay was selfless in her endeavors. Throughout her life she committed herself to the care of others through her work with The Florence Crittendon House, Counsel on Aging and the homeless. After obtaining her real estate license, Kay worked as an agent at Watts Real Estate, then Caldwell Banker until she retired. She loved being a part of the home finding experience with her clients. Kay was equally as ambitious in retirement as a business owner and her employment at Home Depot, where she very much enjoyed seeing friends, neighbors, past colleagues, and clients.
Kay was a talented artist and loved painting, reading, and gardening in her free time. She enjoyed watching Clemson football and golf along with many other sports. Kay was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years, Charles Wesley "Charlie" Goff; and brother Mitch Yarborough.
She is survived by two daughters, Charli Yarborough Goff Montgomery (Jon) of Lancaster and Jessica Goff Rizzo (Matthew) of Simpsonville; five adoring grandchildren, Katie Elaine Montgomery, Wesley Lee Montgomery, Giovanni Charles Rizzo, Stella Mae Rizzo, and Charlotte Olivia Rizzo; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life Service for Kay. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lancaster County Council on Aging and First Presbyterian Church.
