Katie Lorene Walker Arnold was born on March 31, 1929 in Tennessee Colony, TX. She was baptized at an early age and grew up in the Baptist church. She was the eldest child of Albert and Mary Walker.
Katie was united in marriage to Curtis Arnold, Sr. on March 21, 1952. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage and owned Arnold Janitorial Service together. Katie also worked as a domestic house engineer and took care of many children as a childcare provider in her home. Katie took pride in her community and often worked the polling stations for local and national elections. Katie enjoyed working in her yard; she was known for her enormous sunflowers and lilac wisteria that were a sight to behold. She was a charter member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Odessa, TX, and spent many years as a church usher. Katie was a very creative decorator and was known for her immaculately clean home and pound cakes made from scratch.
Katie is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Walker; husband, Curtis Arnold, Sr.; grandson, Kant Lerone Walker; brother, Lessite Walker; and sister, Mary Agatha Walker.
Katie leaves four children to celebrate her life and legacy- Wilmer Walker (Christene), Curtis Arnold, Jr. (Shirley), Shelia Stevenson (Clarence Stevenson, Jr.), and Albert Arnold (Denise) all of Odessa, TX. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Arnold, Mother, Big Mama, Auntie, Mrs. Katie...will be missed but never ever forgotten.
