Kathy Bonie ("Sprehe")

Kathy Bonie ("Sprehe"), 75, of Lake Wales, Florida, formerly of Aurora, Illinois, passed away on October 30, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, John G.; her son, John J. (Kristen), and daughter, Jenna (Karl) Haglund; her grandchildren, Cali D (AJ), Maya, Anders, and Kati; her sister, Shari (Bruce) Haines, and brother, Doug (Lisa) Sprehe, and their children and grandchildren.

Kathy worked for Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA) for 17 years as a facilities coordinator before retiring to Florida with John.

Kathy was an integral member of the New Horizon church, a United Methodist community, where she was actively involved on many committees. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church at 400 Orchid Drive, Haines City, Florida 33844. A memorial service will be held at New Horizon on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
