Kathryn Lee Colby, 65, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2021 at her home in Raymond, NH. She was born October 19, 1956 in Ruislip, England, daughter of the late Francis Mitchell and Claire (Grenier) Mitchell.
Kathryn grew up in Candia, NH and was one of five children in her family. She graduated from Central High School in Manchester, NH. Later, she attended the University of NH and NH Technical Institute where she earned her Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Kathryn was a registered nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester, NH for many years where she was so passionate to help the veterans with their healthcare challenges. A motorcycle accident in October of 2000 led to her ultimately being unable to perform the physical duties in nursing anymore. So Kathryn persevered and became a Tele-Nurse with Health Dialogue which required her to hold nursing certifications in all 50 states. She was employed there from 2001 until her retirement in 2017. Kathryn was the loving wife of Raymond "Butch" Colby who she married on June 17, 2000. They have been residents in Manchester, NH, Hoyt, Kansas and Raymond, NH. Wherever she lived, Kathryn was always attending and being active in her church. She was a longtime former member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church on Mammoth Rd. in Manchester where she enjoyed teaching bible classes to the children. She was currently sharing that same role at New Hope Church in Northwood, NH. Butch is an active member of the Nam Knights Motorcycle Club which supports US Military and Law Enforcement and Kathryn stood right there with him for the past 23 years as a part of Ladies Nam Knights where she made so many lasting friendships.
But above everything else was Kathryn's love for her family and being active in her grandchildren's lives. She helped to home school her grandchildren and loved attending their athletic events. Kathryn always kept an immaculate home and she had a gift with her flair for decorating and being festive. She also enjoyed gardening and going on walks.
She was predeceased by a brother, Steven Mitchell.
Kathryn is survived by her devoted husband Raymond "Butch" Colby, son, Shayne Mitchell, daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Shawn Henderson, son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Stacey Mitchell, 10 grandchildren, Jaida, Rory, Chloe, Bridget Mitchell, Sarah, Brooks, Jonah, Silas, Eden, Malachi Henderson, step-son, Jeremy Colby, step-daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Richard Morse, step-daughter, Tonyel Colby, step-son, Joshua Colby, 9 step-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Marco LaCasse, brother, Dennis Mitchell, sister, Deborah Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews.
