Kathryn was 96 years old, and was married to Norbert for 70 years. Born in Harris Co. to Willis and Mary Maguire Alston.
Kathryn was one of ten children, of which all are deceased. Norbert and her daughter, Karen Yvonne Demny Stephens, are also deceased.
Survived by her sister-in-law, Regina Betts, and her two son's Chuck Demny, and Stephen and wife Pam Demny. Four grandchildren Rachel Demny Macha and husband Matt, Leslie Demny, Shelby Stephens Tharp and husband Dustin, and Zak Stephens and wife Adrianne and eight great grandkids.
Kathryn was raised on her family dairy farm in Houston. Before Amazon, the Alston's would deliver their fresh milk daily to your door step. Kathryn would ride along in the milk truck, while her brothers drove, and she would run the milk up to your front porch.
Kathryn worked for Humble Oil Company, when she met Norbert. She later began her career with Aldine ISD working in the cafeteria dept. She retired as the Tax Assessor and Collector from Aldine ISD.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly for many years. She was active, working the Friday night fish fries, to raise funds to provide scholarships for local college bound students. She served many meals during events for church members. Her chocolate and coconut meringue pies were a favorite.
A Visitation for Mrs. Demny will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the St Joseph's Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow in the Shepard Hill Cemetery in Willis, Tx,
