Katherine Burden Southworth of Fairlee, died at her home surrounded by her family on January 9, 2021. Katherine had been ill for several years with dementia and had been in Hospice care since December 31, 2020. She was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on July 4, 1929. She married Roy Southworth on January 4, 1947. He predeceased her on August 18, 2005.
Katherine was a proud United States Airforce wife for twenty-two years. During that time they lived in many different states, as well as France and England where they raised their family. She enjoyed the years of the Air Force life very much. In 1968 they retired to West Fairlee, Vermont.
She enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens, watching and feeding the birds, picking apples and berries, walking, biking, fishing, and snowmobiling with her husband. What she loved best was spending time with her family. Katherine is survived by two sons, David Southworth and Earl Southworth, and one daughter, Brenda Ricker. She has 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours or graveside services, at her request. Arrangements are by Hale Funeral Home in Bradford, VT.
