Katherine Ora Quibell, of Marion passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 91.
Katherine was born on July 10, 1933, in Marion, Michigan to Raymond and Mary (Hower) Budd. In 1952, she entered into marriage with Thomas Milton Quibell in Angola, IN. After years of raising her family, Katherine went to work at Rexair in Cadillac where she was often one of the first to arrive for work and maintained perfect attendance for many of her years there. After 17 years of service with the company she retired. In earlier years, Katherine could be found bowling, volunteering her time with the snowmobiling club and races in Marion, or cheering on and supporting Marion athletics. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and will be remembered for her love of animals, and as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Katherine is survived by her son, Mike (Teri) Quibell of Marion and Suttons Bay; grandsons, Logan (Monica) Quibell of Holland and Austen (Marley) Quibell of Cadillac; a granddaughter, Elizabeth (Mitchell) Tucker of Clarkston; four great-grandsons, Czerney Quibell, Leland Quibell, Abram Quibell, and Curtis Tucker; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her brother, Marvin Budd and her parents
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Marion, with visitation one hour prior from 11:00 am until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at the Park Lake Cemetery in Marion. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Marion Athletic Boosters or the Missaukee County Humane Society.
