Katherine (Kay) Bischoff, of Naples, and formerly of Houston, Erie, and Redstone Arsenal, Ala, died unexpectedly on June 28, 2021. She was born in Erie to Gustave and Norma (Hornad) Buettner (deceased). She was predeceased by her brother Gustave Buettner, Jr.(Irene) and her sister Mary Alice Flannigan (James). She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald Bischoff. Kay also leaves behind her nephew, Ronald Buettmer of Erie, her niece and godchild Deborah Stock of Tucson, her brother in law James Bischoff (Janet) and many great nieces and nephews. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in Erie in 1957 and began working at the Erie County court house after graduation until her marriage. Then she became a homemaker extraordinaire. In Erie, she was the secretary of the Erie County Young Republican Club. She also served two terms as the president of the Erie Maennerchor Ladies Auxiliary. In Houston, she was the president of the New Neighbor League. In Naples, she was member of the Kensington Golf and Country Club where she never missed a dinner dance. Kay loved to cruise (even though she didn't swim), she cruised more than 60 times with Hong Kong and St. T Thomas being her favorite ports - she loved to shop. Kay was cheerful, vivacious, made friends easily.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Road Naples, FL. 34120 on Thursday, July 8, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice in her name.
