Katharine Calder English died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, on the morning of October 22, 2022, she was 83. She is survived by her "best beloved" husband of 35 years, Charlie English; daughter Kristin Moore (Jon); sons Hans Adomeit (Betsey Severtsen) and Paul Adomeit; stepsons Gary English and Christopher English (Stephen Dori Shin); and four grandchildren Nathan, Brendan, Nicole and Ryan; her sister Patricia Jean Watson.
Kathy was born in Milwaukee, WI, on August 16, 1939, to Edwin and Emily Jean Frey burger (nee Smith).
She worked for over 30 years in public library administration and retired as Assistant Director of the West Hartford Public Library, in West Hartford, CT. She and Charlie retired to Taftsville in 1995 where she enjoyed cooking, weaving and rug-hooking and playing her beloved piano. She cherished her many friendships and groups including her book club, knitting group, kayak group, New Century Club, garden club, and the Flower Guild at St. James Church among others.
She lived for 21 years with breast cancer and is grateful for the care she received from Dr. Gary Schwartz and the oncology team at Dartmouth Cancer Center.
There will be a memorial service in the spring when the serviceberry blooms.
