"Putnam City Man Dies of Wounds--Karl D. Trimble
Mrs. Iona Trimble of Putnam City, OK has recieved word from the War Department that her husband, Mechanic [PFC] Karl D. Trimble, CO K, 3rd BN, 357th INF REGT, 90th DIV, American Expeditionary Forces, died in hospital on Oct. 25, 1918 of wounds sustained in battle on Oct. 24. Trimble left Okla. City in September, 1917and was among the first to here for service and has been in France since the first of June, 1918. He was 28 years of age. His parents live in Newkirk, OK." "Obituaries -- Karl Trimble
The funeral of Karl Trimble, who lived in Okla. City 9 years before the World War and who was killed in France, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday at Street & Draper Chapel, 9th St. and N. Robinson Ave. Mr. Trimble was a Mechanic [PFC] in Company K, 357th Infantry, 90th Division and was severely wounded in the fight for Grand Carre Farm in the battle for Bois De Bantherville on Oct. 24, 1918 during the Meuse-Argonne Campaign. He died of his wounds in hospital on October 25, 1918. Legion members have been asked to meet at the American Legion house, Post 35, in Uniform at 1:30 o'clock Sunday for the funeral."
