Karen Kay Winter, 73, formerly of Elkhart and Warsaw, passed away peacefully Monday, October 26, 2020 at Bell Tower Health and Rehabilitation Center in Granger. Karen was the fourth of eleven children born to Elmer and Vera (Charles) Peters on July 25, 1947 in Goodland, Kansas. She is survived by a son Ryan Winter, two daughters, Melinda (Dan) Kutz, Kimberly (Rick) Campbell as well as 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her 8 siblings, Phyllis (Harvey) Zweygardt, Erma Atkins, Larry "Pete" Peters, Roger Peters, Vickie (Don) Engel, Rod (Rita) Peters, Rick (Cindy) Peters, Randy (Becky) Peters; also numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Terry and Ken Peters.
Karen retired from the Franger Gas Co. in Elkhart, after 30 years of service as the office manager. Karen was a member of the Warsaw TOPS #112, Warsaw Women's Life Insurance Society C-21 and enjoyed collecting angels. Most of all, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her life.
Services celebrating the life of Karen Kay Winter will begin at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, where friends and family may gather from Noon until the service time at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
