Karen Taylor, 75, formerly of Proctor, passed away in Gatesville, Sunday January 30, 2022. A funeral service, under the direction of Heartland Funeral and Cremations of Comanche, will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday February 1, 2022, at the funeral home. Internment will follow at the Cross Cut Cemetery in Brown County. The family will greet friends prior to the service, at 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to American Cancer Society, Comanche Unit, 804 W Wright, Comanche, TX 76442, or giver's choice of charity.
Karen Ann Schlueter was born July 18, 1946, in San Antonio, TX, to Henry and Theresa (Novian) Schlueter. She worked several different jobs after graduating high school but was most content being a homemaker. Karen enjoyed reading, being with her family, loving her cat, making homemade jelly and canning. Karen enjoyed boat rides and fishing, going to the Casinos, and was the biggest fan of the TV series "Yellow Stone". She was a member of the Boots and Saddle Cowboy Church.
Karen is survived by Danny Taylor (Nancy), Willie Taylor (Kim), Billy Taylor (Donna), Tammy Johnson (Doug), Sally Borslien and Fianc? Jack Tyrer, Jason Taylor (Jennifer), Jenniffer Hudspeth (Matthew); sister, Blanche Rhodes; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Gene Taylor; great grandson, Landon Sommerfield; brothers, Allen Schlueter, Darrel Schlueter, Dennis Schlueter, Kenrick (Butch) Schlueter, and Robert (Bobby) Schlueter.
