Karen Yates Treber Simonton, 80, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born on November 1, 1942 in Waverly, daughter of the late Branson Treber Jr. and Madelyn Virginia Yates Treber. On October 19, 1961 she was united in marriage to Donald "Butch" Simonton who preceded her in death on January 2, 2016. Surviving are her children, Greg (Suzanne) Simonton of Waverly, Chad (Karen) Simonton of Waverly and Stephanie (Steve) Morgan of Carrollton, Georgia; grandchildren, Katie Simonton of Waverly, Becca (Brandon) Fox of Beaver, Max (Alexis) McGuire of Norfolk, Virginia, Ian Simonton of Waverly, Lani Simonton of Waverly, Maddie McGuire of Carrollton and Sophie Simonton of Waverly; great grandchildren, Porter Savage and Violet Fox; sisters, Debbie (Tom) Klinger of Waverly and Micki (John) Lloyd of Chillicothe; and sister-in-law, Patty (John) Cool of Waverly.
Karen was a retired realtor and retired former owner and operator of Treber Memorials. She also was a member of the Thursday Night Bridge Club (TNBC), the Waverly Garden Club, Iota Eta Chapter of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority and Grace United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Bridge Street in Waverly. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
