It does not seem real to be announcing the death of my sister Karen, in Everett on January 2, 2021 undefined four days after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Karen was born on July 31, 1940 in Friday Harbor, WA to Kelly and Vera (Kinkela) Libby.
She spent all but 17 years of her life in Everett; living the last eight years with her devoted sons. Karen graduated from Everett High School in 1958. She married Lennert Olson in 1961. The birth of three sons followed.
After her divorce in 1975, she returned to work as a Parts Manager for a number of parts manufacturers in Lynnwood and Seattle. Karen had a remarkable knack for remembering multiple digit parts' numbers. She was loved by her fellow workers for being smart, goofy, funny and a good friend.
Her favorite pastimes were delving into English literature, WWII history, Korean TV Dramas and Southern Food. She was much loved undefined I hope she felt it.
Karen is survived by her sister, Arlene Libby Stavig in Anacortes; her sons: Bryce, Bryan in Everett and Sid in Langley; grandchildren: Carson & Dryden of Beaverton, OR and nephews: Bradford, Brenton and Crane Stavig.
At her request, there will be no service for Karen. She will be laid to rest at St. Francis Cemetery in Friday Harbor, alongside family members.
