June Galyon Partain, 86, passed away November 5, 2021. Mrs. Partain was born at home in Erie, Tennessee on June 18, 1935 to William Frank and Nora Mae Galyon. She was the youngest of 7 children: brothers, Garland, Clarence, Hershel, Marvin; sisters, Audrey and Maxine. She graduated from Midway High School in 1953 and from Tennessee Tech in 1957. June taught elementary school one year at her childhood school. After she married Lee Partain from Athens, TN, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia where Lee accepted a job with the FDIC. In 1960, Cobb County became home when Lee began his 35 year career in banking. During her life, she was an active and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. PTA, Cub Scouts, Band Booster, Room Mom, and Sunday School teacher were a few jobs she participated in as a "homemaker." She enjoyed flowers, sewing, baking, traveling, and her grandson! She was a longtime member of Glen Forest Baptist Church and Lost Mountain Baptist Church. Currently, her sister Maxine Elkins, lives in Loudon, TN and her daughter, Nerissa (Nissa) DeLisle and her husband, Robert, and grandson, Chris, live in Powder Springs, GA; her son, Scott and his wife, Tracy live in Rydal, GA. Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia will be in charge of the arrangements.
