June was born June 7, 1933, in Pierre, SD, the seventh of eight children of John James McCullough and Hulda Cox McCullough.
The family lived in Okaton, SD and later moved to Hot Springs in the Black Hills. June started elementary school in Hot Springs. In 1943 the family moved to Nampa, ID where June graduated from Nampa High School in 1951.
After graduation June was employed by Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York in Boise as a stenographer.
In May of 1953 June married Earl Tuckness after his return from the Korean War.
June and Earl moved to Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico where Earl was stationed. June was employed by the US Government in the office on the flight line at Holloman. Their first son, Tim, was born at Holloman.
After Earl's discharge from the Air Force they moved to Caldwell. Their second child Jan was born in Caldwell.
The next move was to Portland, OR where Earl was employed by General Airways. In 1957 the family returned to Caldwell so Earl could manage the family farm. Their son, Dana and daughter, Marcelyn, were born in Caldwell.
June was very involved in school, 4-H, and church activities with her four children. Her love of books led her to establish a summer reading program at Lone Star School. She was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the PTA for her efforts. She was a leader in Pioneer Girls group at Calvary Baptist Church and taught a girls' Sunday school class for many years. She also led women's bible study groups for several years.
June worked for accountants and the State Tax Commission before starting her own tax business, from which she retired after 20 years.
She served on the board of the Caldwell Salvation Army for many years and loved helping with Christmas for the children.
June was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved The Lord Jesus Christ and her family. She was selfless when it came to helping others and she was a true prayer warrior. She loved music, especially classical and the old hymns.
She was a Seattle Mariners, Boise State, and a Green Bay Packers fan.
June is survived by her husband of 69 years, Earl, sons Tim (Sharon) and Dana (Kathy), her daughters, Jan Bianchi and Marcie (Rick) Coffman, and her sister, Joyce Pahl. Twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, 10:30 a.m. at Caldwell First Baptist Church. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens following the service.
