LUBBOCK: June Alice Ussery Bills, 90, peacefully entered heaven's gate into the arms of Jesus on October 28, 2022, surrounded by family.
June was born on June 15, 1932, in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Robert Dean and Fay Stafford Ussery. After several moves her family eventually settled in Earth, Texas.
June was the mother of four children; Garry and Andrea Bills of Shady Shores, Carla and Scotty Bessent of Acuff, Greg and Joni Bills of Lubbock, and Shellie and Alex Scarborough of Lubbock. She was Grammy to 9 grandchildren; Jeff Bills, Brandy (Zack) Vasek, Kody (Lauren) Bessent, Kade (Candra) Bessent, Jessica (Jake) Neitsch, Jacob Bills and fianc? Bailey Bartholomew, Lexie (Kelly) Futrell, Abigail (Cole) Jones and Bailey (Brian) Ratcliffe. June had 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters; Wylene Cleavinger and Linda Pat Boyd.
June was preceded in death by her parents and twin sisters Reva and Neva Ussery.
June was a longtime member of Greenlawn Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. Many of her travels were with her friends on LCU University Tours. She enjoyed family gatherings, genealogy, attending LCU sporting events, and all things involving Lubbock Christian School.
Family visitation will be Tuesday, Nov 1, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 am at Sanders Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 am in the Sanders Chapel, 1420 Main Street, Lubbock, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm, Nov 1, 2022, at Earth Memorial Cemetery.
The family is grateful for the loving care June received from Carillon House Memory Care, Hospice of Lubbock, and care giver Teresa Savage. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Lubbock Christian School, 2604 Dover Ave, Lubbock, TX 79407; Children's Home of Lubbock, 4404 Idalou Road, Lubbock, Texas 79403 or LCU Associates, 5601 19th Street, Lubbock, TX 79407.
