Mr. Julius Elliott Stewart, 50, of Thomaston, died Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be held on Tuesday, January 18, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Elder Steve Taylor and Elder Billy Mullis will officiate, and interment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 17, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart was born September 22, 1971, in Jacksonville, FL, to Robert Morris Stewart and Dorthy Iris Stone Stewart. He served as a pastor from 2000 until 2019, having locally served Grace Primitive Baptist Church beginning in 2005. He was employed by R & L Carriers. Mr. Stewart enjoyed fishing and bluegrass music. He loved his family and friends dearly and was an avid supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs. He attended Grace Primitive Baptist Church.
Mr. Stewart is survived by three daughters: Georgia (Michael) Price of Jacksonville, FL; Melody Stewart and Tanner Stewart, both of Thomaston; one son, Jacob Stewart of Thomaston; his parents: Robert Morris and Dorothy Iris Stone Stewart of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters: Nancy (Rick) Pritchard of Jacksonville, FL, and Annette (Ira) Bowen of Callahan, FL.; and two grandchildren, Damien and Dawson Price, of Jacksonville, FL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
